A situation like this happened to my sons. They beat the fuck out a guy who took part of a home invasion on us. After all was said and done, he apologized for being part of the attack, said if someone did that to my pops, I’d do the same thing, no hard feelings, I deserve it. They shook hands and squashed it right there. They don’t have beers together, but if they see each other in public, they’re all respectful of each other.

I’m not saying this is a good thing, but if an officer wants to take off the hat and go Mano a Mano (and both belligerents agree), do it. This is way better than someone getting shot IMO.
EDIT: for real tho – who these guys think they are? I’d have backed up my bud by picking him off the pavement, not jumping in to scrap.
